International POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics announces its new linerless direct thermal label printer TSP654IISK. Designed for use in fast food restaurants, cafes and other take-away food outlets, this printer enables the printing of labels, meal orders and packaging inscriptions, as well as product labels for retail and logistics applications, and offers a high level of versatility.
Motivated by the recent increase in the volume of online orders through various channels, as well as stricter hygiene regulations and more specialised orders, Star has developed the TSP654IISK to provide reliable and accurate label and order printing. With a print speed of 180mm/second and a compact design, the TSP654IISK prints high-resolution text and graphics on MAXStick® linerless media with roll widths of 40mm, 58mm or 80mm.
Savings can be made with more labels on linerless media than on standard label rolls, and the flexibility to use a 40mm roll for smaller items. Because flexible thermal labels can be applied to virtually any surface, easily removed and peeled off without residue, they allow a job to be tracked through the entire preparation process, from order placement to delivery, providing an extremely high level of accuracy and efficiency.
The TSP654IISK incorporates a high quality guillotine cutter with anti-pinch protection and a paper feed sensor for efficient job processing at high workloads when multiple jobs are run simultaneously. The paper removal sensor can be set to hold each new label/job until the previous one is removed, allowing the host software to determine when the ticket was removed and how long after printing or before delivery the print job was started. An optional buzzer can be connected to alert the operator either once or repeatedly that the label can be removed.
Available with interchangeable plug-in interfaces such as Serial, USB and Ethernet LAN, the TSP654IISK offers a high degree of versatility and upgradeability. An MFi-certified Bluetooth model is also available. In addition, the TSP654IISK is compatible with Star's outstanding HI X Connect interface technology WebPRNT™ and CloudPRNT™, enabling direct local or remote server communication and printing. This is ideal for direct printing of food orders and delivery labels for online ordering and delivery software without a local tablet or POS system. The printer also offers hub functionality with 2 USB host ports for connecting a USB scanner or customer display.
