Automated application solution for very small quantities

Automated vial labelling: dispensing system by Schreiner MediPharm convinces Octapharma

In order to efficiently label small batches of its vials and infusion bottles, the healthcare company Octapharma relies on a new, automated application system by Schreiner MediPharm.

The semi-automatic dispensing system meets the pharmaceutical manufacturer's requirement for a fast, accurate and professional solution with which it can label small quantities and different containers flexibly, quickly and in consistent quality.
Schreiner MediPharm's customised labelling system, which was designed in cooperation with the Schreiner Services Competence Center, enables automated labelling of vials and infusion bottles in different sizes, diameters and shapes. It can be set up individually, is quick to change over, easy to operate and requires little space thanks to its compact design. Small batch sizes and many types, for example for small markets, different language variants or clinical trial preparations, can be reliably, economically and time-savingly labelled by Octapharma.
The dispensing system can process all glass containers, from very small vials with tight radii to large bottles. Vial diameters from a minimum of 15 millimetres to a maximum of 170 millimetres are possible. The bottle height to be processed depends on the bottle shape and is between 35 and 250 millimetres.
The long-standing customer is already using several of these labelling systems from Schreiner MediPharm. "We can label all products efficiently in high and, above all, uniform quality, from the smallest vials to large bottles. Compared to previous manual application processes, this noticeably relieves our employees. The handling of small batch sizes has thus been professionalised and is significantly more economical," sums up Brigitta Nehrer, Production Manager and Deputy Head of Visual Inspection & Packaging Operations at Octapharma.
