The Swiss JCM Werbedruck AG has been offering solutions for outdoor advertising and advertising printing for more than 100 years. While in the past the focus was on poster advertising, in recent years the demand for POS materials and interior solutions has risen sharply. With the installation of two HP Scitex 11000, the company is now reacting to the changed order situation.
"The outdoor advertising market is still very important for us, but it is only growing by around five percent annually," emphasizes Thomas Häuptli, Managing Director of JCM Werbedruck AG. "POS, on the other hand, is growing five to six times faster at 25 to 30 percent per year. That's why we want to expand in this area." The two new HP flatbed printing systems are now replacing two older digital presses that could no longer keep pace with the production volume and quality requirements. "With the two HP Scitex 11000 presses, we can accept more POS orders with the same number of employees and respond more quickly to our customers' wishes," says Thomas Häuptli.
With semi-automatic loading and unloading and the ability to print up to four sheets at a time, the HP Scitex 11000 will significantly increase production. At the same time, the manual handling allows more mobility with frequent changes and a more flexible use of different media and formats. A must for JCM, as it mainly uses the machines for short runs between 20 and 50 copies. "The HP Scitex 11000 is 25 percent faster than our predecessor systems. In addition, the image quality is higher, with better, smoother color transitions and skin tones, as well as rich backgrounds," explains Thomas Häuptli.
In addition to the new models, JCM also has an HP Scitex 17000 and an HP Latex 3500, allowing both classic billboards and POS solutions to be printed in parallel. The new installation offers a further advantage - since the entire flatbed digital printing at JCM now takes place on HP systems, all delivery steps for inks, digital printing devices and services can be handled easily and efficiently. In addition, time and costs for administration and service can be saved by using the PrintOS Mobile App and Print Beat.
