Sign & Digital UK (SDUK) announces details of the first event in the Sign & Digital online series. Hosted on Hopin (the online events platform), it will take place on 14 July, 9.30am – 10.30am.
The event will be a masterclass on adhesives and how to avoid costly sign failures. Starting with a welcome and networking session, Kevin Henry, Eurobond’s Technical Manager will go on to explore how to avoid application and adhesive failures in signs, by understanding the chemistry behind adhesive and material choices. The event is interactive, with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss methods.
Kevin will talk through: choosing the right type of adhesive chemistry, adhesive choices for rigid and flexible materials, the impact of environmental factors on adhesive choice, understanding loads or forces on the bond line, best practice surface preparation, how to avoid contamination issues, adhesives commonly used in the sign industry and their pros and cons, and temporary versus permanent installation (sneeze guards, COVID signage etc.). The session will also include demonstrations of best-practice use of adhesives and adhesive tapes.
