Canon is completely renewing its large format printer portfolio. With the replacement of the previous systems with the new ColorWave series 3000 and 9000 for color and the PlotWave series 3000 and 5000 and PlotWave 7500 for monochrome printing, Canon is setting new standards. In order to do justice to the changing market conditions, the new ones have been further developed in terms of safety, sustainability, reliability, productivity and quality.

For creative people in agencies, for architecture and planning offices, but also for print service providers, Canon has designed solutions for large-format prints that not only impress with their new print security integrated in SMARTshield. The emission-reduced and compact systems allow installation directly in the office environment. The highest possible security standards offer the certainty that confidential data from, for example, research and development cannot be accessed externally.
Security first
From research and development departments printing secret prototype drawings to construction companies keeping plans confidential, organizations need to be confident that their data is secure. With the print security integrated in SMARTshield, the new printer series offer secure transmission: They offer secure storage to protect print data from theft or accidental data loss. Authorization is used to restrict access to confidential files and provides reliable hacking prevention. Regardless of whether print data is saved or authorized, SMARTshield ensures that data remains secure.
Productive end-to-end solution
By integrating optional post-processing and scanning solutions, the ColorWave and PlotWave printers offer an end-to-end solution. New, compatible filing tables and folder units are available that can be configured for each printer and meet individual requirements. It is also possible to retrofit a filing table or a folder unit at a later point in time after purchasing a new system.
The new scan solutions are fully compatible with the entire new portfolio. The Scanner Express is the space-saving scan solution that is fully integrated and mounted on the PlotWave and ColorWave printers. The Scanner Professional is a stand-alone production scanner for maximum quality and productivity and can be fully integrated with the entire color and monochrome printing portfolio.
User-friendly
The intuitive new ColorWave and PlotWave user interface can also be operated by an untrained user. With the help of ClearConnect software, the printers offer an optimized workflow for each individual print job or a complex set of documents. With active warnings and accurate print previews, the software enables necessary corrections to be made before printing starts.
With the POWERsync controller, all ColorWave and PlotWave systems can also be easily integrated into a network. Thanks to the UniFLOW software, both secure printing and reliable accounting can be carried out.
To save time and speed up the design process, Publisher Select, as part of the ClearConnect software suite, prevents misprints and saves material with a "What you see is what you print" preview on the desktop. To improve productivity, the software offers dual printer support for a number of Canon large format printers and assigns print jobs or individual files within a complex print job to specific media.
