HP Latex 300 and Latex R Series printers bring UNESCO Ocean Exhibition to life

As one of the leading global firms when it comes to sustainability, HP is leveraging its large format printing technology to support UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation), and marine conservation non-profit The Ocean Agency, in presenting the Ocean Decade Exhibition.

In January this year, HP Inc., The Ocean Agency, D&AD and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission challenged thousands of designers from around the world to create posters that would highlight the beauty and intrigue of the ocean. The outdoor exhibition kicked off on World Ocean Day at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where HP’s Latex 300 printer was used to produce the 32 outstanding posters on display – with the aim of attracting support for ocean science and encouraging viewers to participate in the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
Following the success of the initial exhibition, Parisian print service provider, PUBLI 3, has been selected to support a second phase – with additional images displayed permanently at the UNESCO headquarters and exhibited temporarily at 13 schools around the city, before travelling to other global locations.
An advocate of HP Latex print solutions, PUBLI 3 will be using the HP Latex R Series to print the posters for upcoming exhibits. “We’ve been using HP Latex technology since 2010, and it’s allowed us to significantly expand our print offerings to our customers. The HP Latex R series supports white ink printing and is perfect for the vibrant colour generation needed for visual applications such as exhibition posters and outdoor signage. The HP Latex R series also enables us to print more sustainably thanks to solutions such as the part-cardboard HP Eco Carton cartridges that reduce the use of plastic,” said Franck Gniewek, owner of PUBLI 3. “Using the HP Latex R series to produce these posters is a natural choice and we’re very pleased to be able to play a part in this meaningful exhibition – to help raise awareness on the importance of ocean science and conservation through our print services.”
The Ocean Decade Exhibition will be exhibited in other UN locations, universities, and major aquariums around the world in the coming months.
