MOSCA at DrinkTec 2022: individual solutions for secure transport

- KZV-111 pallet strapping machine ensures resource-saving transport security
- Stretch wrapping by Saturn S6 from MOSCA brand Movitec creates maximum stability for fragile goods

Whether empty cans or filled bottles: At DrinkTec, the world's leading trade fair for the beverage industry, MOSCA will be presenting two different solutions for securing the transport of beverage containers at stand C6.351 from 12 to 16 September. The KZV-111 pallet strapping machine and the Saturn S6 stretch wrapper are designed to meet the different needs of the beverage industry at the end of the packaging line and enable safe and stable transport - both to beverage producers and to end customers.
No matter what material they are made of or what size they are: In order to transport containers safely and efficiently in the beverage industry, a stable composite is needed. However, this must meet very different requirements depending on the container. "While beverage cans run the risk of being deformed during transport, glass bottles must be very carefully protected from breaking," explains Christian Grosskopf, Sales Manager Food & Beverage at MOSCA. "In addition, the transport protection must also be suitable for further processing. Empty beverage cans, for example, must be transported as efficiently as possible in large quantities, while filled bottles must meet the high demands of the trade." Here it is important that employees can easily remove the goods from the pallets. At the same time, the displays visible to end customers must not get dirty during transport. For these different requirements, MOSCA will be showing two suitable solutions at the end of the packaging line at DrinkTec.
KZV-111 secures pallets in a resource-saving way
They are light, come in different formats and have to be transported in large quantities: empty beverage cans on their way to be filled. However, there is often a mixture of different formats on the pallets. If a single can falls off the pallet, the entire composite must not collapse. Therefore, not only a seal from the side or from above is needed, but also a light pressure to reliably secure the cans for transport to the beverage producers. This is where the KZV-111 pallet strapping machine from MOSCA comes into its own: It is specially designed for strapping goods on pallets and can create the required pressure on the empty cans through vertical strapping. With the help of sustainable strapping materials such as PET strapping made entirely of recycled materials, the KZV-111 secures up to 61 pallets per hour for transport in a resource-saving manner. Since a narrow plastic strap is sufficient to secure even the heaviest pallets, material consumption and the carbon footprint remain minimal.
Stretch wrapping efficiently secures and protects bottles including cardboard carriers
The second exhibit is also all about securing pallets: The Saturn S6 stretch wrapper from MOSCA's Movitec brand wraps up to 120 pallets per hour; speed and application tension can be individually adjusted. During this process, the goods remain static, a film reel circles horizontally around the pallet. Wrapping is particularly suitable for securing filled cans or fragile bottles: Here, the focus is on protection against external influences and manageability in retail. Thanks to the elastic wrapping film - stretchable by up to 300 per cent through film pre-stretching - and the additional cover film dispenser, the load not only remains stable during transport, but cardboard bottle carriers are also protected from moisture and dust. Supermarket employees can then remove the film layer by layer to ergonomically remove individual pallet layers. At the same time, as a ring wrapper, the Saturn S6 can easily apply a banderole to the film to mark the goods - without leaving any adhesive residue on the products. Thanks to the efficient cutting and sealing system, it also seals the film over the entire surface at the end of the wrapping cycle, thus avoiding protruding film residues.
