Fashion Enter closes the skills gap in the UK with EFI Optitex 3D

Leading training center for the fashion and textile industry offers professionals hands-on experience with 3D digital design tools

EFI™ Optitex®, a division of Electronics For Imaging and the world's leading provider of integrated 2D and 3D CAD/CAM software solutions for the fashion and apparel industry, today announced its collaboration with Fashion Enter Ltd. (FEL), a UK training and qualification centre for the fashion and textile industry. FEL has integrated EFI Optitex 3D solutions into its curriculum.

FEL was founded in 2006 and is based in London. As a true information and technology hotbed for the fashion and textile industry, FEL offers comprehensive training and qualification services - from design to production. As a non-profit social enterprise, FEL also offers internships and training for adults through an EFSA (Education Skills and Finding Agency) and SEL (Social Enterprise London) approved Technology Centre, supported by Haringey Council, Mayor's Good Growth Fund and the online fashion retailer ASOS®.

In order to pave the way for the British fashion and textile industry to the upcoming digitalisation, FEL was determined to close the ever-growing skills gap in industry and education and to give British professionals the opportunity to gain practical experience with digital 3D design tools. Recognizing the growing market demand for fast and flexible digital solutions, FEL selected EFI Optitex as its 3D technology partner in September 2019. FEL was looking for innovative 3D solutions that would enable courses in innovative digital design, internships and customized training programs, also in cooperation with leading fashion retailers such as Marks & Spencer®, ASOS, Next® and many more.

After a short but extremely intensive training period, FEL was able to integrate EFI Optitex 3D, including pattern design and 3D tools, into its design and production processes. Since then, FEL has benefited from the advantages of completely digitizing the design process with EFI Optitex 3D - from pattern creation to production. In the first implementation phase, EFI Optitex 3D, which has intuitive, easy-to-use, time- and resource-saving design tools, will enable FEL to offer numerous certified 3D design courses and to establish partnerships with new customers.

"Fashion Enter wants to be a centre of excellence for the production of high-quality textiles and for the training of skilled workers," said Jenny Holloway, the 35-year-old founder of FEL and expert for the British fashion industry. "With EFI Optitex' robust and reliable 3D tools, we can further consolidate and expand our position as the UK's leading provider of training and skills development services. We look forward to a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with EFI Optitex as we continue to bridge the digital divide in the UK fashion and textile industry".

Amir Lehr, General Manager of EFI Optitex, said: "We are proud to support Fashion Enter in achieving its goal of closing the skills gap in our industry and helping FEL to continue to inspire the UK fashion industry with innovative ideas for the future. As a reliable 2D-3D technology partner, we attach great importance to offering our customers high-quality solutions for the digitalization of their workflows and production processes. Thanks to EFI Optitex, FEL will soon be focusing on digitization in its training programs for the qualification of skilled workers."
