Annual Congress of Swiss Museums: Art Scanner WideTEK 36ART & Book Scanner Bookeye 5 in Focus

The Annual Congress of Swiss Museums attracts around 300 participants to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne. A presentation and panel discussion on the social relevance of museums are planned there on 21 August 2020, as well as the general assemblies of VMS and ICOM Switzerland.

For the first time, the next generation of Image Access book scanners will enter the European stage. The new family member Bookeye 5 V2 offers a modular product concept. This allows for easy upgrading from the Basic model to the Kiosk version and all the way to the Professional system for any digitization project. A new mechanical book cradle design and laser-controlled focusing enable high-quality and gentle digitisation of books, magazines, archives, etc.
In addition to this overhead scanner, Image Access Partner Metrin will focus on the advantages of the WideTEK 36ART. With this large format scanner, works of art are perfectly digitized for virtual pleasure.
ICOM's current museum definition describes museums in the broadest sense as civic educational institutions with the terms: Collect, preserve, explore and communicate. The VMS is a partner of ICOM Switzerland, the Swiss National Committee of the International Council of Museums. With around 780 institutional members, the Association of Museums in Switzerland (VMS) represents the interests of the entire Swiss museum landscape and serves, among other things, as a forum for the exchange of ideas and experience.
