New Columbus McKinnon RFID Technology Helps Simplify Inventory & Inspection Processes

CM Smart ID™ RFID now available on CM Bandit hoists and CM shackles

Columbus McKinnon Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCO), a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of material handling products, introduces CM Smart ID™ radio frequency identification (RFID) technology on hoists and rigging products. CM Smart ID™ is available standard on all CM Bandit ratchet lever hoists for the U.S. market – making it the world's first HMI-Certified ratchet lever hoist with RFID technology. It will also be offered as an option on select CM shackles as small as 1/2".

When integrated with a complete inventory and inspection management system, CM Smart ID™ can enable: faster inventory tracking and serialization; more efficient safety inspections; and improved inventory and inspection data accuracy.

Simple. Scalable. Accessible.

CM Smart ID™ is a simple, scalable and easily accessible RFID option developed through a partnership with InfoChip, one of the leading suppliers of RFID in the industry. What makes CM Smart ID™ unique is that, before the product leaves the factory, we associate each chip with detailed product information that is uploaded and stored on the CM Smart ID™ Cloud. This allows for easy access to the information by anyone, anywhere, at any time. It also gives us the ability to add or update product and service information after the product leaves the factory.

"CM Smart ID™ is versatile and easy-to-use," said Tim Lewis, Product Manager Rigging Products and Manual Hoists. "With InfoChip technology, we ensured our chips were durable and reliable in even the harshest environments and that our pre-associated product information could be easily accessed for free by customers, whether they're in the office or out in the field."

The initial introduction of CM Smart ID™ includes the CM Bandit and select CM shackles. We intend to add CM Smart ID™ technology on other hoists and rigging tools in the near future.
