World Textile Information Network and the Zero Carbon Academy partner to support textile businesses in responding to climate change

World Textile Information Network (a global leader in textile information and data services), and Zero Carbon Academy (a specialist provider of training and tools to support the zero-carbon transition) have agreed to work together to deliver new tools and content to support decarbonisation in the textile sector.
Under the partnership, ZCA will provide training and tools to help business in the textile sector transition to net zero, working together with WTIN to develop and promote the services.
The textile sector is a significant contributor to climate change. The UN reported in 2018 that the textile industry generates roughly 1.2 billion tonnes of CO2 equivalent, or nearly 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Mark Jarvis, Managing Director of WTiN says: “We are delighted to be teaming up with ZCA for this important initiative. Net Zero is a key challenge to our sector and we want to play our part in helping firms plan and deliver carbon reduction.”
Oliver Gadsby, Executive Chair of ZCA adds: “Reducing environmental impact is a huge priority for the textiles sector. This exciting new partnership creates the opportunity to deliver new services to help firms respond and we look forward to working with WTiN to address this vital challenge.”
