OpenText Announces EIM License Subscription and General Availability of OpenText™ Core

OpenText Cloud Now Offers Increased Pricing, Delivery, Services and Solution Options for Individual Customer Requirements

OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), today announced two major cloud initiatives. First, OpenText's EIM portfolio, which has been powering the world's largest businesses and governments for over 20 years, is now available in a subscription model powered by the OpenText Cloud. With the new subscription model, OpenText extends its cloud services to offer customers greater flexibility in purchase and deployment. Enhancing its cloud-based services, OpenText EIM solutions now include managed cloud services, subscription pricing, private, public and hybrid-cloud hosting models in local, secure and discrete data zones.

"The global market is entering the subscription economy, and it is vital that organizations can consume and deploy enterprise-class solutions in the way that best suits their needs," said Mark J. Barrenechea, president and chief executive officer of OpenText. "Through the OpenText Cloud, we have more than 600,000 trading partners, 900 managed services customers and more than 60,000 cloud customers on our platform. OpenText Core, Cloud Subscription and Managed Cloud Services are core enablers for a digital advantage through our EIM offerings."

With today's announcement, the OpenText Cloud, with global operations including data centers in Canada, United States, Europe and Asia, now offers customers:

OpenText Core: A multi-tenant SaaS application that allows for the simple, secure and smart exchange of corporate documents and collaborative information management.
EIM Cloud Subscription: Customers can subscribe to OpenText EIM products for a defined period of time without an upfront capital investment.
Managed Cloud Services: With Managed Cloud Services, OpenText uses its expertise in Enterprise Information Management to deploy and manage the daily operations of the customer's OpenText Cloud solutions such as network operations, cloud engineering, customer support services and client enablement.
"OpenText was completely in-line with our strategy for a modern, scalable solution with the necessary security and the best choice for us," said Jean-Lu Faye, EDI manager, Michelin. "OpenText brings the reliability and credibility to the table and provided a safe and secure cloud environment to grow our systems. Working closely with the team, OpenText has become a valued and trusted partner and we have been extremely happy with our choice."

Additionally, OpenText is today announcing the general availability of OpenText Core, announced in November. As OpenText's flagship multi-tenant SaaS EIM offering, OpenText Core is an Information Management solution designed for cloud-ready businesses seeking a balanced experience between compelling ease of use and productivity with the type of control and management needed in a business environment. Available in four different packages, pricing for OpenText Core is available here.

In Forrester Research, Inc.'s September, 2014 report: "Benchmark Your Enterprise Cloud Adoption," authors Sophia I. Vargas, Dave Bartoletti, James Staten and Michael Caputo find "The cloud is not only a viable option for a broad range of workloads but has quickly become the preferred method for reaching new markets faster and staying ahead of competition. More and more enterprises are using cloud solutions to deliver strategic elements of their business, from SaaS-based business intelligence applications to externally facing customer engagement platforms... A formal cloud strategy helps ease corporate cloud service adoption, drive consistent practices, and raise the engagement and thus value of tech management to the business."

The OpenText Cloud offers enterprise information management solutions to help enable compliance, B2B integration and information management. Processing more than 16 billion transactions per year, representing $6.5 trillion in commerce and integrating 600,000 trading partners, the OpenText Cloud benefits more than 60,000 customers around the globe.
