The 23rd edition of the show evolves to include complementary categories to signage and textile printing.
SGI Dubai 2020 show, the biggest and most comprehensive exhibition catering not only to the signage and textile printing markets in the region and beyond, announces the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the exhibition taking place from January 12-14, 2019 in Dubai.
In contrast to natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals, AI is defined as intelligence demonstrated by machines. AI research is defined in computer sciences as the study of “intelligent agents”: any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals, according to Wikipedia.
For the signage and printing industry this means radical changes that impact not only the way advertising is viewed and perceived but also the way it is designed and constructed.
There are already tools on POS available that can “guess” the gender, the age of a person, will record where their eyes linger, where the eyes move along faster and whether the person viewing is interested in the product advertised. In addition, moods and mood changes can be recorded. In addition, AI can interact with the viewer.
By collecting data about viewers of advertising with cameras and microphones, algorithms can predict whether an advertisement, a POS, a billboard, even building wraps etc will be successful and where they should be placed to achieve maximum effect.
At SGI Dubai 2020, visitors will be able to see and experience the offerings that its exhibitors will present on the show floor. As the world is moving ahead the results of any branding and labeling campaign, each POS and advertisement are of intense interest to brand marketers and each client of print service providers. Thus print service providers, designers, etc. need to keep themselves abreast of developments and implement those in order to achieve highest customer satisfaction that in turn result in new revenue streams and increased profits.
