WETEC: Further international expansion of the proven strategy

Messe Stuttgart now taking over the EXPO 4.0 / WETEC trade fair alliance as its own event under new project management

Messe Stuttgart has strengthened its Industrial Solutions Business Division by taking over the Expo 4.0 trade fair alliance. The international trade fair WETEC and the two trade fairs GiveADays and TV TecStyle Visions are now own events of Messe Stuttgart and are being managed from Stuttgart. Most recently, in spring 2018, the trade fair association was able to report a total of 566 exhibitors from 28 countries and 13,700 specialist visitors from 41 countries. The declared objective: to consistently expand the international character of the trade fair alliance and establish it as the leading event for the areas of advertising technology, promotion and textile finishing. The next Expo 4.0 will take place from 30 January to 1 February 2020. However, POS Masters, which has previously participated twice in the event, will not take part in 2020.

The concept of WETEC will also be systematically continued and extended after the change of ownership. Nadine Dingert, the new Project Manager for WETEC at Messe Stuttgart, summarised: "In the last few years WETEC has become established as an international trade fair for advertising technology, digital printing, light advertising and digital signage. We will maintain the previous strategy. We will continue extending the successful programme items such as the WORK & DO Area or the WRAPandSTYLE event and will focus on future topics during the further development of the event." Wolfgang Plonner, Managing Director of WNP Verlags GmbH, is delighted: "We believe that WETEC is well served for further internationalisation, through a central marketing strategy, with the new owner. Our specialist media lead in these areas, and we expect no less for the trade fair, which we will continue to accompany closely as a media partner."

The attractive accompanying programme of WETEC is being prepared in cooperation with different partners. Martin Gerhardts, Signforum24, is responsible for the WORK&DO Area: "We are pleased that the entire work flow of an advertising engineer will be presented live on the WORK&DO Area in 2020. The character of the hands-on workshop will create genuine value-added for visitors." The WRAPandStyle Arena will be another major attraction. Organiser Andreas Ley from F+Z folien und zubehör is pleased: "We will really rock the WRAPandSTYLE Arena in 2020! From technical talks, round tables, best practice demonstrations and technical hacks through to rock'n roll music on the stage, we will make the three days colourful and loud. You'll be surprised!"
