Light + Building 2020 postponed: 010digital presents AR solution in Webinar

010digital offers all Light + Building visitors who don't want to wait until September a webinar presenting the AR solution for monitoring and controlling electrical installations

The worldwide spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has now prompted the postponement of Light + Building 2020 after leading lighting companies cancelled their participation in the fair. The world's leading trade fair for lighting and building technology, which is held every two years, is to be held in September instead.

This is when the industry will once again present its world innovations for lighting, electrical engineering, home and building automation and software for the construction industry. The focus will be on solutions that reduce the energy consumption of buildings and at the same time increase living comfort. Everything is represented, from LED technology, photovoltaics and electromobility to the intelligent use of electricity with smart metering and smart grids.

010digital will also be presenting its patented Augmented Reality (AR) solution for integrated building automation, which optimizes functionality, costs, time and energy efficiency. In Hall 8.0 at Stand B74, you can experience how the control, maintenance and monitoring of electrical systems is greatly simplified with the help of the AR app.

"Augmented Reality offers the possibility of interacting with the environment in a very intuitive way: simply point the tablet's or smartphone's camera at the desired object and the possible operating options appear on the screen," explains Bertil Felsch, operative managing director of 010digital GmbH. AR thus offers an innovative approach in the development of IoT systems. While the use of voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant requires knowledge of the correct commands, the AR app works completely without prior knowledge of the devices.

This creates great advantages for companies that are struggling with a shortage of skilled workers, for example. The AR App accompanies inspectors through the entire maintenance routine, so that even new and less experienced technicians can start immediately without prior expert training. Paper questionnaires are replaced by digital checklists to automatically generate and store inspection reports. Authorized personnel can access statistics at any time to track maintenance times, key KPIs and equipment history to prevent unexpected downtime.

By integrating smart metering systems, thresholds can be set for key parameters to receive alerts in case of deviations in the app. This means that technicians are immediately informed of any irregularities and, thanks to the integrated navigation system with live tracking, are guided to the equipment and machines in question. If necessary, they can make manual adjustments directly on site via the app. The app therefore means considerable time and cost savings for facility management in large office and building complexes, but also indoor farms, especially in terms of monitoring, inspection and maintenance.

As Light + Building 2020 has been postponed to September at short notice, we are offering you the opportunity to get to know our AR application in a webinar. Simply contact us using the contact form on the 010digital website. Otherwise, we would of course also like to invite you to test our AR solution in person at Light + Building 2020 in September. There, visitors can fill out maintenance protocols, control the lighting and adjust the ventilation, lighting and irrigation for a plant rack
