Deutsche Messe launches CeBIT in India

- International IT trade fair to debut in Bangalore

- Important hub for international start-ups

- CeBIT Global Conferences offer added value

Another important milestone in Deutsche Messe's overseas tradeshow business: CeBIT INDIA will be staged at the International Exhibition Centre in Bangalore from 12 to 14 November 2014 – a premiere, for never before has an offshoot of CeBIT as the world's most important trade fair for IT and digitization been held in India. This constitutes another major step forward for Deutsche Messe's global strategy, for by taking CeBIT to India the company is exporting one of its most internationally recognized brands to one of the world's most dynamically growing marketplaces.

Boasting economic growth of 8.5 percent and a gross domestic product of approx. 731 billion US dollars, India – like China – is one of the world's biggest and fastest growing economies. Growth in India's IT industry is especially strong due to keen demand for both hardware and software. However, IT technology and IT-supported services are also playing an important role in driving the economic growth needed to ensure that broader sections of the population take part in the country's economic success. The National Association of Software and Services Companies of India (NASSCOM) predicts a 14 percent increase in turnover for the 2013/14 fiscal year. Growth rates of these proportions make India an interesting market for IT suppliers.

"We are pleased that several global leaders will be among the companies appearing at the debut, among them the likes of Rittal, Schneider Electric, Daimler, Intel and Bosch. Other international players acting as partners to the premiere event are IBM and Vodafone", says Dr. Andreas Gruchow, the member of the Managing Board responsible for Deutsche Messe's overseas business. "CeBIT INDIA also opens up opportunities for SMEs and start-ups to collaborate with major Indian IT firms. Our trade fair offers excellent potential for business initiatives and networking across the entire Indian subcontinent."

At the special "plus91"display, young and creative companies can showcase their portfolio of products and services, as well as meet mentors and investors from the sector. On the last day of the trade fair a jury of independent experts will select the five winners of a start-up competition. The prize is the opportunity to reach a wide audience thanks to free-of-charge participation in the 2015 parent CeBIT in Hannover.

Some 500 exhibitors from around the world will be exhibiting their IT products and innovations. This specialist fair addresses four main trends in the sector: IT Industry Cloud, Social Media, Enterprise Mobility and Big Data. The CeBIT Global Conferences to be held parallel to CeBIT INDIA follow the same successful concept as for the main CeBIT event in Hannover – a concept which has also been exported to Australia, Brazil and Turkey. The focus is on knowledge transfer and the sharing of experience and ideas. Several renowned personalities will be speaking, among them Kumud Srinivasan (President of Intel India), Mark McDonald (Managing Director, Accenture Strategy, USA), Vishal Sikka (CEO, Infosys, India), Norbert Schroeder (General Manager, Volkswagen India), and Helmut Schütt (CIO, Daimler Trucks, Buses & Vans).

The organizer of CeBIT INDIA is Hannover Milano Fairs India Pvt. Ltd. International, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe. The National Association of Software and Services Companies of India (NASSCOM) is the official patron of CeBIT INDIA. This new IT specialist fair also has the support of well-known Indian industry associations and organizations such as STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) and the Indian Ministry for Communication and Information Technology.

CeBIT INDIA focuses exclusively on professionals and will be complemented by Plugged In, a separate trade fair which also makes its debut from 14 to 16 November in Bangalore. Plugged In covers the IT consumer market and – by contrast with CeBIT INDIA – is aimed at special retailers and consumers. These events overlap by a day (14 November) to allow visitors to attend both.
