The HERMES Startup AWARD goes to core sensing

With the HERMES Startup AWARD 2021, the jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, has for the second time honoured a young company for the development of an outstanding product. The company core sensing from Darmstadt received the coveted prize in the Startup category. The award was presented on 12 April during the HANNOVER MESSE Digital Edition.

The young company core sensing is being honoured for its coreIN project. This is a robust and reliable force and torque sensor that records and transmits data directly and wirelessly from a rotating component. This makes it possible to integrate it into various machine elements and components. CoreIN enables constant monitoring of the components, can prevent failures and reduce maintenance.

"With the HANNOVER MESSE Digital Edition, we offer young companies in particular an excellent platform to present themselves in the environment of the world's most important industrial trade fair. The success of core sensing shows that it is always worth competing with other companies," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Messe AG.

Jury chairman and Fraunhofer president Prof. Neugebauer: "Start-ups are essential innovation catalysts. In the international innovation system, they are among the most effective ways of translating fresh ideas and the latest research findings into applications at high speed and bringing them to market. I am particularly pleased to award core sensing, a spin-off that supports companies with its solutions in more comprehensively exploiting the diverse potentials of digitalisation. coreIN is a real enabler and driver in this regard - and a shining example of how integrated sensor technology promotes the digitalisation of production."

The HERMES Startup AWARD 2021 was presented during the HANNOVER MESSE Digital Edition on 12 April 2021.

Every year, Deutsche Messe presents the HERMES Startup AWARD to a company that is no more than five years old and whose product or solution demonstrates a particularly high degree of technological innovation. This year, the prize was awarded as part of the HANNOVER MESSE Digital Edition. From 2022 onwards, the winner will be honoured during the Opening Ceremony of HANNOVER MESSE.
