HANNOVER MESSE 2022 to take place in early June

The next HANNOVER MESSE will be held from 30 May to 2 June. This is Deutsche Messe AG's response to the current pandemic and creates planning security for exhibitors and visitors.

HANNOVER MESSE 2022 will take place from 30 May to 2 June and not in April as previously planned. The date shift to early June 2022 was made in close consultation with the HANNOVER MESSE Exhibitor Advisory Board and the partner associations VDMA (German Engineering Federation) and ZVEI (German Electrical and Digital Manufacturers' Association).
"Due to the continuing high incidence in Germany and many neighbouring countries, we have decided together with our exhibitors to move HANNOVER MESSE to early summer this year. Last year we were able to establish that the summer months are best suited for major events during the pandemic. Since we cannot currently assume that the coronal situation will have eased sufficiently by April, we are offering our customers the greatest possible planning security with this early postponement so that they can present their innovations at the world's most important industrial trade fair," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG.
HANNOVER MESSE will be the world's first major industrial trade fair in June and, with its focus on digitalisation and sustainability, will provide clear impetus for innovative, efficient production and climate protection. Due to the high capacity utilisation of the exhibition grounds in Hannover with numerous events in early summer, the world's leading trade fair for industry has to be shortened to four days this year. In 2023, HANNOVER MESSE will again be held on five days in April as usual.
"It is right to postpone HANNOVER MESSE to a later date. This will allow the vaccination rate to be further increased, which is in the interests of exhibitors and visitors to the fair. In addition, a later event date means a higher likelihood of more national and international visitors - which benefits everyone involved. The mechanical and plant engineering sector will present itself in Hannover as a technological enabler of climate protection and digitalisation, as well as clearly demonstrating its role as a supplier and user of cutting-edge technology for networked and intelligent production," comments VDMA Executive Director Thilo Brodtmann.
"As the world's most important industrial fair, HANNOVER MESSE is the showcase to the world for our companies. The postponement is therefore the right thing to do under the given circumstances. We are convinced that we can reach a larger audience in the summer for the topics around Industry 4.0 and its contributions to sustainability. With our innovations around digitalisation, electrification or energy efficiency and automation, the electrical and digital industry is shaping the industrial transformation towards a climate-neutral circular economy. We want to demonstrate to as wide an audience as possible what this path can look like. Because we can only master this challenge if we work together and pull together. HANNOVER MESSE provides the perfect setting for this," says Wolfgang Weber, Chairman of the ZVEI Board of Management.
The Partner Country for HANNOVER MESSE 2022 is Portugal.
