Until now, globalisation has been the guarantor of rising international prosperity, but already during the pandemic borders were closed and supply chains interrupted. With the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis was added. What impact these developments will have on the global economy in the medium and long term and what technologies can be used to meet these challenges will be discussed by HANNOVER MESSE exhibitors with representatives from politics, business and science from 30 May to 2 June in Hannover.
With a total of more than 600 lectures and panel discussions, HANNOVER MESSE is a unique knowledge platform. On various stages, companies will present the strategies and solutions with which they are responding to the challenges of the new era.
On the Mainstage in the H'Up, the focus is on sustainability, climate protection and green hydrogen. On the first day of the fair, energy experts from Bosch, Siemens and Nea Green will discuss how important green hydrogen is as a strategic building block for energy diversification. On the second day of the fair, the 3rd Lightweighting Summit of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) will be the centre of attention. Under the patronage of Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Dr. Robert Habeck, it sets clear accents with regard to climate protection, resource efficiency and resilience. In view of the global political situation, the topics are more relevant than ever before.
On the Industry 4.0 stage in Hall 8, the focus is on technological solutions and topics such as the digital twin, B2B platform economy, interoperability, additive manufacturing, predictive maintenance or cyber security. A new topic is Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS), in which the production of goods is offered as a service. MaaS enables new business models, but also an increase in resilience, transparency, sustainability and flexibility of supply chains. These advantages are manifested for the automotive industry in the large-scale Catena-X project. MaaS is an important use case there, based on the open architecture approach of the Smart Factory Web, exploring and realising a MaaS service landscape.
On 2 June, the international MES conference will take place on the Industrie 4.0 stage. It will address the question of how manufacturing can be made more sustainable and at the same time more economical. The conference will shed light on the role MES can play as an enabler of Industrie 4.0 and sustainability.
This year, the Energy 4.0 stage will receive special attention. Here, the focus will be on trends for an energy-intelligent, climate-friendly and sustainable future. Top-class experts will discuss how we can achieve the energy turnaround, use resources more sustainably and radically reduce CO2 emissions.
