Kontron at embedded world 2025

Innovations for a connected future

Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), will present innovative products and solutions at embedded world in Nuremberg from 11 to 13 March 2025. Kontron will showcase a broad IoT portfolio of high-performance hardware, innovative software solutions and comprehensive services along the entire value chain at booth 159 in Hall 3.
New AI-based security solution: Protection for IoT and edge infrastructures
Kontron's highlight at embedded world 2025 is its specially developed, high-performance, AI- based IDS and firewall solution that protects industrial networks in real-time. The system monitors network traffic, detects threats - even in encrypted data streams - and blocks attacks immediately, giving companies valuable response time. Artificial intelligence not only identifies known threats but also analyses and blocks previously unknown attack patterns. The solution is ideal for protecting older, insecure systems that can be hidden and secured behind them. All security-related events are reported directly to a Security Operations Centre (SOC). Kontron also offers comprehensive cybersecurity services, including penetration testing to identify and protect against potential vulnerabilities.
Another new product is the compact industrial PC KBox A-251-AML/ADN, which is ideal for edge and gateway applications. Equipped with energy-efficient processors such as the Intel® N97, Intel® CoreTM i3-N305, or Intel x7000 series, it combines high computing power with a space-saving design. Integration with the ManagedEdge IoT Bundle enables rapid scaling, low up-front costs, and a secure, CRA and NIS-2-compliant IoT architecture. The KBox is optionally equipped with the secure, hardened, Linux®-based KontronOS operating system, which meets the highest security requirements and is specifically designed for industrial IoT applications. Together with the AI-based IDS and firewall solution and the ManagedEdge IoT bundle, Kontron offers comprehensive solutions for secure, intelligent, and scalable IoT and edge infrastructures.
The product range is complemented by the KBox B-203-RPL and KBox B-204-RPL industrial box PCs, which are suitable for easy integration into customer-specific systems and devices, such as modern control panels or complex laboratory and diagnostic equipment. They are equipped with a new mITX motherboard, designed and manufactured in Germany, which supports the latest Intel® CoreTM i3/i5/i7/i9 processors up to the 14th generation.
Robust systems and powerful entry-level server motherboards
The rugged KISS 4U V4 RPL rackmount system is designed for demanding industrial applications. With 14th generation Intel® CoreTM processors, support for high-end graphics cards and high shock and vibration resistance, it is the ideal solution for AI and machine learning applications.
Kontron expands its portfolio with the K3881-C and K3882-C μATX motherboards, designed in Germany. Both models meet the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act, support server management functions and are designed for industrial server applications. The K3881-C offers 10GbE connectivity and supports 5G applications, making it ideal for data-intensive infrastructures. The K3882-C is a cost-effective solution for standard server applications. With these motherboards, Kontron sets new standards in security and performance for industrial edge servers.
For network and communication applications, Kontron is introducing the modular Ethernet switch module KSwitch M20, an L2/L3 switch module with bandwidths of up to 100 Gigabit per second.
Innovative products for flexible IoT and embedded applications
Other Kontron highlights include the BL Pi-Tron CM5 and the BL i.MX93. The BL Pi-Tron CM5 is a powerful embedded baseboard with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 as the CPU unit. It is designed for demanding applications in industrial environments. It is compatible with the Raspberry Pi community software. The BL i.MX93 is a powerful and cost-effective single-board computer, ideal for energy-efficient applications. The highperformance microNPU provides an efficient platform for machine learning applications.
After relaunching the traditional JUMPtec brand, Kontron's new subsidiary presents standardised and customised Computer-on-Modules (CoMs) at the Kontron booth: COM Express®, COM-HPC® and SMARC®. JUMPtec is focusing on comprehensive and scalable solutions based on the latest processor technologies from Intel®, AMD, ARM® and TI. The portfolio is complemented by services such as baseboard design and production services to support OEMs in development and production.
Secure and efficient software solutions
Kontron is also presenting innovative software solutions at embedded world 2025. The WebVisu IoT Bundle combines an optimized HTML5 browser based on Chromium with OEM branding and security features. It supports remote debugging and backup solutions and is compatible with various Kontron products.
In addition, new Distribution Sets enable granular software deployment for industrial applications. They combine a boot loader, operating system and application packages and are compatible with OS updates. The REST API for the KontronGrid facilitates automation processes by enabling container configuration and integration with third-party systems.
Comprehensive services for market success
The presentation of Electronics2 rounds off Kontron's presence at the show. This offering label presents Kontron's range of development and production services for IoT and industrial applications along the entire production chain. As part of this network, beflex electronic is exhibiting its rapid prototyping and low-volume production services, which accelerate the market launch of new products.
