DigiPath Corp Collaborates with Penn State College of Engineering on Product Design Improvement Project

DigiPath Corp, a subsidiary of DigiPath, Inc. (OTCBB and OTCQB: DIGP), a digital pathology solution provider, is sponsoring a senior capstone design project through The Learning Factory at the Penn State College of Engineering, over the duration of the Fall 2014 semester.

Each year, the engineering students involved in these projects have the opportunity to showcase their abilities by applying their technical knowledge to solve a real-world industry problem. Organizations that fund these projects provide the Penn State students with a fantastic learning experience to bridge the gap between their collegiate careers and soon-to-be professional careers.

For this semester, DigiPath is sponsoring a project in which students will develop improvements to DigiPath's existing means of transporting PathScope™, a highly sensitive digital pathology imaging system.  The students will be focused on improving the design of the current transportation case in order to save money each time the PathScope™ is transported via commercial aircraft. According to the team at PSU, the new design is expected to save DigiPath approximately $30,000 annually.

"We are excited to be a sponsor of Penn State's Learning Factory program," stated Steve Barbee, President of DigiPath Corp. "Engineering students will get the challenge of solving a real-life problem, and DigiPath will get a superior design for our digital pathology equipment case. It's a win-win."

DigiPath's Stephen Liberatore will be leading the project from DigiPath's end.  Mr. Libertore is a recent addition to the DigiPath team and a graduate of Penn State's Biomedical Engineering Program. Upon completion, the team will be able to say they were a part of a project that helped save DigiPath thousands of dollars in travel expenses. DigiPath proudly supports The Learning Factory and the Penn State College of Engineering.
