Professor Andreas Schütze and his team of experts in measurement and sensor technology at Saarland University are making available a free data processing tool that represents the very essence of a large number of their research projects. The software package – called simply ‘Dave’ – is a MATLAB toolbox that allows rapid evaluation of signals, pattern recognition and data visualization when processing huge datasets. The free software enables very large volumes of data, such as those produced by modern sensor systems, to be processed, analysed and visually displayed very rapidly, so that researchers can optimize their measurement systems interactively.

Mutual exchange with our customers on the identity market and continuous development by the R&D team in Nuremberg have ultimately catered to our new PhotoVerify release which has boosted performance by factor 5 (!) of the beta version. This breakthrough allows a perfect balance between security and convenience for individuals and companies alike: The False Acceptance Rate (FAR) can be reduced to 0.1%, making it extremely hard for impostors to fake the system. The FAR in this case refers to fraudsters being able to perform a successful identification with PhotoVerify. Thus, a FAR of 0.1% means that, if you had the chance to try the identification 1000 times (which is far from a real-life scenario of course) you would only be able to surpass the technology once.
TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, will demonstrate the broad scope of its ENTRELEC range of terminal blocks at SIFER 2019, the 11th International Exhibition of Railway Technology, taking place in Lille from 26 to 28 March. TE is on Stand 220 in Hall 3.
