Messe Düsseldorf is expanding its global event format in foundry technology to Latin America, setting another important milestone for the globalisation of the “Bright World of Metals”. From 16 to 18 October 2024 GIFA Mexico held at the Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City will bring together industry experts from all over the world and present a wide spectrum of machinery, equipment, materials, and technical innovations for various user industries such as the automotive and construction industries, mechanical engineering and the iron and NF-metal industries.

Mitsubishi Electric’s Nagoya Works, one of the company’s main factories developing and manufacturing industrial automation products and systems, introduced a smart visualisation solution to monitor utility data throughout the entire factory. The GENESIS64™ visualisation software, a solution for displaying data in process, infrastructure and manufacturing industries, was leveraged to systematically monitor real-time data remotely from equipment, such as operations and loads, helping to address issues raised by the “new norm”.

The transformation of the metals industry towards climate neutrality was the main theme of the Bright World of Metals, which took place with great success in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June 2023, and was also much discussed at the GIFA and NEWCAST stands. The exhibiting companies and expert conferences focused on technologies and solutions for decarbonisation, sustainability, energy and resource efficiency in the sense of circular economy across all stages of the added value chain, following a cradle-to-cradle approach.

In the machine manufacturing industry, more and more drive systems are being converted from the servo-hydraulic throttle principle to Electrohydrostatic Actuation Systems (EAS). The 4-quadrant capability of the Electrohydrostatic Pump Unit and Servo Drive used in this technology, in combination with the new Moog Energy Management System (EMS), allows regenerative power flows generated during braking or pressure relief to be stored and reused.

The number of exhibitors and trade visitors demonstrated the significant growth of the trade fair towards pre-covid levels.
