Epson Reports Administrative Oversight under the Japanese Radio Act for Industrial Facilities Emitting Radio Waves

Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "Epson") announced that it had failed to submit the necessary applications under the Japanese Radio Act for certain component cleaning equipment it had installed in the past including for industrial facilities emitting radio waves.


Inkron Invests in Augmented Reality Components Development Infrastructure

Inkron, a Nagase Group Company, the global leader of siloxane-based, optically clear Nano-Imprint Lithography (NIL) materials, makes a strategic investment in NIL materials and components development infrastructure. The investment will significantly accelerate Inkron’s development of high-performance optical materials needed in critical components of augmented reality (AR) glasses, 3D sensors and other diffractive optical elements (DOE). Inkron’s ability to provide its customers with customized optical NIL materials with fast turnaround time and enhanced performance shall be significantly improved with this investment. Qioptiq builds new production building in Göttingen

On 18 May 2020, Qioptiq symbolically broke the ground for the start of construction work on a new production building in the Science Park business park in Göttingen. The expansion of the production capacities of the photonics specialist, a subsidiary of Excelitas Technologies, has an investment volume of around 25 million euros. A production hall is being built on an area initially measuring approx. 18,000 m², which will house new state-of-the-art clean rooms (class ISO5) and associated production-related office workplaces as well as the necessary logistics infrastructure. The building will have an effective area of approx. 6700 m², of which approx. 1500 m² will be clean room areas. According to the current planning status, the building should be ready for occupancy in July 2021. After commissioning, approx. 100 employees will start work there.

Epson Accepting Orders for Samples of New Scaler IC for In-Vehicle Systems

Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "Epson") has developed and begun accepting orders for samples of the S2D13V52, a scaler IC for in-vehicle systems that upscales or downscales image data streamed from a host and outputs it on a display. Epson plans to produce 100,000 of the new chips per month.
