The Seminar "Competitive  Solar  Energy  &  Finance  Solutions  Seminar  for  the  GCC" will be held during the 16th edition of Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from April 14 to 16, 2014.

The "Competitive Solar Energy & Finance Solutions Seminar for the GCC" will offer WETEX participants a seminar about Solar, Energy Storage, Building Integration and Financing. The "Competitive Solar Energy & Finance Solutions for the GCC" will take place on April 14, 2014 at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

"Attendees to the "Competitive Solar Energy & Finance Solutions for the GCC" will comprise a segment of the solar energy industry, which will include leading power project developers, installers, manufacturers, governments, financial institutions, investors, consultants and utilities", says Browning Rockwell, founder of the Saudi Arabia Solar Industry Association (SASIA) and the Solar GCC Alliance.

The seminar "Competitive Solar Energy & Finance Solutions for the GCC" is a half day, intensive conference program featuring competitive solar energy model, replacement strategies for GCC, building integrated PV applications, project development, GCC markets as well as project financing.

The "Competitive Solar Energy & Finance Solutions for the GCC" will prepare the inaugural event of a new annual series named the "Solar and Energy Storage Forum 2014" that will be held in November 2014. It is a seminar where solar developers, investors and lenders can network and meet leading solar project developers, investors, lenders, utilities, equipment suppliers, construction contractors and other key industry players.

The "Competitive Solar Energy & Finance Solutions for the GCC" is organized in cooperation with the Solar GCC Alliance and supported by the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EUPVSEC), International PV Equipment Association (IPVEA), Saudi Arabia Solar Industry Association (SASIA), Emirates Solar Industry Association (ESIA), and the Energy Storage Journal.

Dubai Expo 2020 plans to generate 50 percent of the Expo exhibition's energy needs from renewable sources on site, which will include the first large-scale applications of building-integrated photovoltaic and solar technologies. In addition, 30 percent of the building materials to be used for the 438-hectare site of the Expo exhibition will be made from recycled aggregate content.

In line with these commitments and with the green initiatives pursuant to the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, which aims to reduce energy demand in Dubai by 30 percent, the "Competitive Solar Energy & Finance Solutions for the GCC" during WETEX 2014 and the "Solar and Energy Storage Forum 2014" taking place on November 5, 2014, will explore and encourage the best-practice energy conservation strategies across the region.
