Indigo's safety and regulatory department received SAT level 3 certification as a UTL-Intertek CTL: Customer Testing Laboratory. The ETL-Intertek Satellite programs allows HP Indigo to qualify products for many safety regulations in-house instead of with third-party auditors. The CTL certifications covers most of the product safety testing of HP Indigo presses including dielectric safety, thermal and current input testing.
"With approval of our Indigo test lab process, CTL-Intertek granted us the CTL: Customer Testing Laboratory status which provides a good value for our Indigo customers by increasing the flexibility of certification testing and reducing the cost of third-party auditors," said Shlomo Greenwald, HP Indigo program lead. In the past we had to schedule safety audits 2 to 3 months beforehand and host the auditors for up to 3 weeks , now with most testing done by Indigo, third party auditors come for 2-3 days and we can plan this just a few weeks in advance. This improves the overall efficiency our time to market, while reducing costs."
"In order to get the CTL-Intertek SAT level 3 certification as a CTL: Customer Testing Laboratory, we had to demonstrate competence in testing methods, ownership of the proper testing equipment and have infrastructure process and procedures for the actual test and recording of results," said Greenwald. The application process was a long term goal of our Indigo team, but well worth it.
