Epson to Participate in Sustainable Brands 2020 Yokohama

CTO Yasunori Ogawa to be plenary session speaker

Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "Epson") will participate in Sustainable Brands 2020 Yokohama ("SB'20 Yokohama"), an international conference that is to be held at the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Center on February 19 and 20. Seiko Epson Director, Managing Executive Officer, and CTO Yasunori Ogawa will be a plenary session speaker.

Following its participation in the Tokyo and Seoul conferences in 2019, SB'20 Yokohama will be the third time Epson has featured at a Sustainable Brands conference. These conferences, held in 14 cities and 13 nations in the 2019 fiscal year (ending March 2020), provide participants with an opportunity to highlight their sustainability efforts with the aim of building corporate recognition and promoting engagement. Seeking to become an indispensable company to its customers and society, Epson will showcase its sustainability efforts, promote awareness of its strategic direction and the value the company offers, and build relationships within the SB community.

In addition to the plenary session speech on CTO sustainability initiatives, Epson will demonstrate a PaperLab, the world's first dry-process office papermaking system, as an innovative paper recycling and environmental office solution. Moreover, Epson will present live demonstrations of a virtual office and virtual school as solutions for reducing travel and improving communication with individuals in remote locations. Epson is engaged in cooperative initiatives to find solutions to social issues through, for example, collaboration with local governments and participation in a session to discuss education from the perspective of educators.

Epson's stated goal is to be an indispensable company, one that is committed to openness, customer satisfaction and sustainability. We tackle customer needs, address societal challenges, and create unique environmental value through our business activities with the aim of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and creating a better and more sustainable future.
