MAX International Converters Receives the Solar Impulse Foundation Efficient Solution Designation Award for Profitable environmental protection

The Solar Impulse Foundation (SIF) has awarded the Efficient Solutions Designation to MAX International Converter’s innovative MAXStick Linerfree Labels. This esteemed recognition is part of SIF’s Worldwide 1000+ Solutions Alliance for building a portfolio of innovations for profitable environmental solutions.

Following the success of their famous solar powered flight around the world, founder Bertrand Piccard and the Solar Impulse Foundation decided to award the "Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions" designation to a limited 1,000 products or services across the globe that meet high standards of both sustainability and profitability. A portfolio of these solutions, which now includes MAX International Converter’s patented MAXStick® Linerfree Labels, will be brought to political and business decision-makers across the globe to encourage them to adopt more ambitious environmental targets and energy policies.
Lancaster, PA-based MAX International Converters is honored to receive this designation in appreciation for its achievements in efficiency, sustainability, and profitability. For MAX International Converters, the designation for MAXStick® serves as a new and credible symbol that is applied to products, processes, and services in order to bridge the gap between ecology and economy while proving that protection of the environment can be profitable.
To achieve this recognition, MAX International Converters and MAXStick® underwent a rigorous assessment process performed by external independent experts, based on a verified methodology and against several criteria that included technological feasibility, environmental and socio-economic benefits, and economic profitability. MAXStick® was specifically recognized as achieving two of SIF’s Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 9: Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 12: Responsible Production and Consumption.
Mike Vigunas, President of MAX International Converters said: “We are honored to have been distinguished with the Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions Designation for MAXStick®. SIF’s vision to efficiently, sustainably, and profitably impact the planet resonates fittingly with MAX International’s mission to position MAXStick® as an efficient, sustainable, and profitable labeling solution. Since its creation, MAX International has been dedicated to leveraging technology that benefits society and the environment. Leading in production technology is one of the main pillars of MAX International’s corporate strategy. Being committed to reducing the impact on the environment, this leadership does not only apply to high-performance product development, but also to responsible operational production. This is an economic and ecological necessity, especially due to the increasing use of linered label products creating vast amounts of non-biodegradable silicone-infused waste material.”
The SIF Designation serves as recognition for work addressing global environmental problems, improving sustainable energy use, lowering carbon pollution, and helping achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 9, 12, 13 and 14. Products, services, clean technologies and processes awarded this designation have demonstrated protecting the environment and optimizing the use of natural resources while maintaining profitability potential and sustained economic growth.
