Plastic packaging is on everyone's lips and has become a daily media topic. The call for ecological alternatives to plastic is becoming ever louder. This also increases the demand for sustainable food packaging. The sustainability aspect of packaging has become a purchase criterion for customers. Retailers are also increasingly concerned with using environmentally friendly food packaging.
THIMM has recognized the trend and has designed innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for food. As an environmentally friendly food packaging THIMM has developed the "WRAPandCOOL", an insulating cool box made of corrugated board. The cool box is suitable for transporting chilled or frozen food. Besides the insulating cool box, THIMM offers another innovative and environmentally friendly food packaging: the "THIMM Click4Menu". The heat-resistant and fat-tight menu tray for food is optimally suited for take-away food. The special: Hot food can be warmed up in the menu tray in the microwave or in the oven.
Together with representatives from different industries as well as testing institutes and associations THIMM has developed the new DIN SPEC 91360. This DIN SPEC stands for a "temperature concept for the dispatch of chilled and non-chilled goods in the food online trade".
