Gold status for corporate responsibility. Epson was again able to improve on the previous year and is now awarded EcoVadis Platinum status.
Epson has been awarded platinum status for corporate social responsibility by the independent organisation EcoVadis. The platinum rating, which was introduced in 2020, shows that Epson is one of the top one percent of companies in its industry and that the Group operates at the highest level in the areas of the environment, sustainable procurement, labour and human rights and ethics. For three consecutive years, Epson was awarded Gold status. Gold is awarded to companies that are in the top five percent of the companies evaluated.

EcoVadis is an independent platform that uses standards to evaluate the corporate policy and CSR activities of companies. These include measures in the areas of the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis' evaluation methods cover almost 200 purchasing categories, 160 countries and over 20 sustainability indicators. Over 55,000 companies use EcoVadis for their assessments.
The platinum status is awarded for the first time this year. Epson received an "Excellent" (the highest score) for the environment and high scores for the categories sustainable procurement, labour and human rights and ethics, making the company one of the top one percent in the computer and peripheral manufacturing industry. It is the best possible international standard for sustainability.
