2021 Global 100: Neste ranked 4th most sustainable company in the world

Neste is ranked 4th in Corporate Knights' list of the 100 most sustainable companies. This marks the 15th consecutive year that the company has been included in the Global 100 list. Neste has been consecutively included in the list longer than any other energy company in the world.

"We are pleased to have been recognised as one of the most sustainable companies in the world. Many companies are continuously improving their sustainability efforts and getting on the list gets harder every year. It is great to see that more and more companies around the world are making sustainability their core strategy," says Peter Vanacker, President and CEO of Neste.

"Our goal to create a healthier planet for our children drives us to give more every day. We are convinced that together with our partners we can successfully reduce the impact of the climate crisis. In addition, we will improve the sustainability of our own activities," Vanacker continues.

The Global 100 list is an annual ranking of corporate sustainability performance compiled by the independent consultancy Corporate Knights. This year, 8 080 companies were compared with industry peers from around the world. The ranking is based on the assessment of up to 24 quantitative performance indicators, ranging from environmental performance indicators to resource management, employee management, financial management, clean revenue and supplier performance.

According to Corporate Knights, Neste remains in a top position due to its industry-leading sustainability focus and in particular its outstanding performance in clean returns and clean investment indicators.

Neste has transformed itself from a local oil refiner to a global leader in renewable and circular solutions. Neste creates solutions to combat climate change and accelerate the shift to a circular economy. The company helps customers in the transport and urban, aviation, plastics and chemical industries to make their businesses more sustainable.
