Extensive paper portfolio from Mondi's Neusiedler mill in Austria is now CO2 neutral

Mondi now offers an extensive portfolio of CO2-neutral paper for professional printing, office use and premium packaging from the Mondi Neusiedler mill.

Mondi is thus responding to increasing customer demand for CO2-neutral products.
The new offer builds on the tradition of sustainable and CO2-neutral paper from the Mondi Neusiedler mill.

Mondi, a leading global packaging and paper company, is now offering a comprehensive portfolio of CO2-neutral paper from its Uncoated Fine Paper division. The new offering is aimed at segments for professional printing, office use and premium packaging.
The Mondi Neusiedler mill has been offering CO2-neutral products such as Color Copy original and selected products from the NAUTILUS® portfolio for over a decade. Since April 2021, the range of CO2-neutral paper has been extended to almost all premium paper brands. This also includes PERGRAPHICA®, Mondi's premium paper brand for creative design, publishing and luxury packaging. PERGRAPHICA® now combines premium printing and publishing quality with sustainability in one range. With this new offering, Mondi is responding to the growing demand from customers such as agencies, designers and brand owners for sustainable and CO2-neutral printing, publishing and packaging products.
The CO2 emissions of the paper were calculated, offset and classified as CO2-neutral with the support of ClimatePartner. Mondi's CO2 calculations are based on recognised industry standards such as the CEPI Carbon Footprint Framework for paper and board products[1]. ClimatePartner is an international provider of climate protection solutions with whom Mondi has a long-standing relationship. According to ClimatePartner's calculations, paper accounts for 50 to 75 percent of the CO2 emissions in the production of a book, which illustrates the importance of this measure. To offset all calculated CO2 emissions, Mondi supports the Pesqueiro hydroelectric power plant on the Jaguariaríva River in southern Brazil - an internationally recognised climate protection project. To create transparency and help customers underline their sustainability ambitions, information about the CO2 neutrality of the products is printed on the packaging and documented in documents for customers.
"Sustainability is at the heart of our strategy at Mondi and our sustainable paper offering has a long tradition. As part of our 10-year MAP2030 action plan, one of the things we are focusing on is reducing emissions from our production. In addition, we are now pleased to support our customers with an expanded CO2-neutral paper portfolio for printing and premium packaging applications. Based on the positive feedback from our customers, we expect the new offering to be very well received," says Gunilla Saltin, CEO Uncoated Fine Paper at Mondi.
