Carbon-Neutral Products

Carbon-neutral awareness is on the rise and companies all around the world are focusing on cutting down emissions. Carbon-neutral products have spiked and now we’ll take a look at some of the most well-known carbon-neutral brands.

With the pandemic seemingly fading away slowly, in time our global society will be fully open once again. The world has been shut for these past couple of years and as a positive side product, emissions globally have gone down, though only for a brief period of time.
Human activities have decreased due to strict lockdown conditions and thus we have consumed much less than before. The voyage towards normality seems to be getting closer and the onus is now on companies to deliver their sustainability promises on time.
The ideal situation would be 100% carbon neutrality with every product available. That won’t happen any time soon, but the fact remains that big brands are fortunately leading the way. The consumer does stand a chance to buy more carbon-neutral products in the years to come due to increased availability.
Let’s a take look at some of the companies, well-known products, services that are already carbon-neutral.
Sinebrychoff
Well, here’s a nice sip of good news for us Finns! The Carlsberg owned, Finnish-based brewery Sinebrychoff recently became the first brewery in the world to bottle carbon-neutral Coca-Cola.
According to their statement published in May 2021, the Finnish brewery located in Kerava does not use any fossil fuels in their production of beverages, which include soft drinks and beer for example. One of the main reasons for the company’s carbon-neutral success is the switch to green electricity, back in 2015.
This fantastic achievement is already showing the fruits of its labour. According to the Coca-Cola Company, several of their other manufacturing partners in Europe are also aiming towards carbon neutrality by 2023.
Google
Every time you search for something on Google, have no doubt in the fact that you are using a carbon-neutral product or service. Actually, it is probably the most used carbon-neutral service in the world and has been since 2007.
Google became the first major company in the world to achieve carbon neutrality in 2007 and continues to pursue more remarkable environmental actions. The company has set a goal of becoming totally carbon-free by the year 2030.
The Finnish Postal Service
Finland’s trusted and beloved postal service Posti has been one of the bigger companies in the country to take climate action. Their postal services have been carbon neutral since 2011 and the company as a whole since 2015.
Posti primarily reduces emissions with projects that are directly related to their various operations.
“The CO2 emissions generated by our services are calculated as part of our annual environmental calculations. We compensate the remaining CO2 emissions by voluntarily funding climate projects,” says Posti on their website.
For us Finns, this obviously creates awareness around climate subjects and encourages people to take action on their own as well.
Woodly – the carbon-neutral packaging solution
In plastics, carbon neutrality is not always a given. However, our product, the Woodly® material is already carbon-neutral today. As a growing number of companies are looking for environmentally friendlier packaging solutions, Woodly is the perfect partner for anyone interested in recyclable bioplastics. The task of reaching sustainability goals becomes easier with us.
For others to take notice and move towards carbon neutrality, it requires companies such as the aforementioned ones to set the standard. Luckily, there is a massive supply of carbon-neutral products from many fields of commerce. This offers the consumer the chance to support an immensely important cause thus ensuring a better future.
