Bosch IoT Suite makes analyzing big data in the Internet of Things possible

Version 2.0 available immediately

  • New version facilitates the use and evaluation of large amounts of data from various sources
  • Supports the efficient development of innovative applications for the Internet of Things

As of now, Bosch IoT Suite 2.0 (previously Bosch Software Innovations Suite) is immediately available. The Suite supplies the technology for applications in the Internet of Things (IoT) and provides all of the necessary functions required for pooling devices, users, companies, and partners on an IoT platform. Its integrated approach makes it easier to efficiently develop innovative and sustainable solutions for a connected world. New is the Big Data Processing component (BDP), which makes it possible to analyze immense amounts of data. It represents a key additional aspect to our platform for IoT applications: targeted data analysis for the benefit of consumers and businesses.
"As a lead provider and user of IoT and especially Industry 4.0 technologies, Bosch offers its customers and partners the chance to make use of fully mature and tested solutions. The Bosch IoT Suite is also the central software platform for Internet of Things solutions within the Bosch Group," says Dr.-Ing. Rainer Kallenbach, CEO of Bosch Software Innovations.
Data analysts can now examine and evaluate the huge amounts of data created by IoT applications using the integrated data mining and data analytics technology from KNIME.COM. By means of graphical modeling – an approach used in all Bosch IoT Suite components – users without extensive IT skills can also access, transform, and analyze the data, for instance to make forecasts and, as needed, customize products and services.
"Now that we have expanded the Bosch IoT Suite by adding the Big Data Processing component, our customers and partners can come up with completely new data-based solutions in the future. Not only can sensors and devices now be analyzed within one platform, but customer master data and process data can too. We've placed great value on security and privacy because, in the internet age, trust is as important as ever," says Dr. Stefan Ferber, Vice President Engineering at Bosch Software Innovations.
Another advantage to the new version is that it allows more efficient development, deployment, and operation of cloud-based IoT applications. Above all, application developers benefit from the Bosch IoT Suite's wide range of functions: It is easy to integrate devices, mobile devices, and third-party systems, and it makes defining and implementing necessary processes and rules for new or optimized business models user-friendly. This is facilitated through the close integration of the Suite's components: Device Management (M2M), Business Process Management (BPM), Business Rules Management (BRM), and the new Big Data Processing (BDP).
