TE Connectivity launches LUMAWISE Type Z COB LED holders for fast, flexible and effective lighting assembly together with LEDIL reflector optics

TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has introduced LUMAWISE Type Z LED holders to provide quick and easy mechanical and electrical connections of chip-on-board (COB) LED arrays in a wide variety of lighting designs. Customers can use the new LED holders to develop Zhaga-compliant modules.

Low-profile versions are available, all featuring a snap-in retention that secures the LED in the holder during assembly and ensures proper positioning in the fixture. LUMAWISE Type Z LED holders are now also offered with an attachment feature for LEDIL optics, so the lighting designer can opt for beam-shaping flexibility in spot and downlight applications.

IDS is Officially a Standard: DIN SPEC 27070 is Published

Today, the DIN SPEC 27070 “Requirements and reference architecture of a security gateway for the exchange of industry data and services” has been published. Sebastian Steinbuss, CTO IDSA, about the publication: “Adding to the International Data Spaces Reference Architecture (IDS-RAM), the release of the DIN SPEC represents a huge milestone on the way to secure cross-company exchange of industrial manufacturing data. The next step is to make this DIN SPEC an international standard – an ISO standard.”

ITB Berlin 2020 will not take place

Due to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Economics have stated their opinion that ITB Berlin be cancelled. This evening at 1827 hrs, the responsible health authority of the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf in Berlin imposed significantly tighter restrictions on holding the event. Among its requirements the authority stipulated that each participant would need to prove to Messe Berlin that they were not from a designated risk area or had not been in contact with a person or persons from a risk area. It is not possible for Messe Berlin to satisfy these requirements overall.

Metso to supply core technology for the Pavlik gold ore processing plant in Russia

Pavlik Gold JSC has chosen Metso as the supplier for the key crushing and grinding equipment for its ore processing plant in Magadan, Russia. The Pavlik gold plant, which commenced its operations in 2015, currently produces approximately 7 tons of gold annually. With the new equipment, the plant expects to double its ore processing capacity and increase gold production.
