Bringing a household robot to market with BigRep SPOT

Varomo UG, a German startup developing robotic aides for the home, used the BigRep SPOT worldwide large-scale 3D printing service to bring their prototype to life for end-user testing. The household robot ‘Carecules’ is designed to assist disabled people transport small objects around the house.

The process was initially developed by Prof. Neil Hopkinson and is licensed to voxeljet from Evonik and Loughborough University.
