etikett.de is winner of the European HP Inkspiration Award 2019

The B2B label printer wins for the second time in a row in the Labels category
The specially designed Garden of Aja label combines two trends in the packaging industry: the trend towards sustainable materials and the simultaneous use of new technologies to create a link between the real and virtual world and thus offer the end customer a unique experience.

The label was produced using digital printing. In addition to Euroscale (CMYK), the colour Digital Silver was used. The main challenge in printing the label was the nature of the grass paper: printing inks should not fade and the natural yellow tint of the material should not affect the effect of the metallic ink. By printing a HPI White opaque white layer under the HP Indigo ElectroInk, the metallic inks could be intensively reproduced.
When printing the back label on transparent PP film with a film backing, the main difficulty was to apply the opaque white layer between two ink levels in as opaque a manner as possible and achieve an accurate register. The inside was first finished with a silver hot foil and then overprinted with sandwich printing.
Zusa was used for the winning label Augmented Reality. This technology literally brings the label to life: if the zappar code printed on the front label is scanned, a bird appears that flies into the jungle. After the leaves have slowly disappeared, they reveal information about the product.
