Thimm has repeatedly been honoured in the Corporate Social Responsibility rating by EcoVadis. The packaging manufacturer achieved a silver medal and is thus in the top 18 percent of the companies evaluated in the same sector. This result puts Thimm above the industry average.
At the heart of the EcoVadis evaluation are 21 criteria, which are divided into four overarching themes: Environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. In all four areas, Thimm was above the industry average in terms of points and was awarded the silver medal for this achievement.
Thimm was particularly convincing in the area of the environment through the reduction of energy consumption, the range of environmentally friendly materials or the recycling programme for the printing inks used. Transparent reporting, measures taken for employee health and safety and the code of conduct for suppliers are also reflected positively in the results. Thimm is satisfied with the result of being above average. "Corporate responsibility determines our entrepreneurial actions. We associate it with the concept of responsible, future-oriented corporate management," reports Michael Weber, Head of Corporate Marketing. "We are currently further developing our existing sustainability strategy. The award shows that we are on the right track".
EcoVadis is a recognised and independent assessment platform that examines corporate social responsibility according to international standards. Its aim is to monitor the corporate social responsibility performance of companies and make it transparent for business partners. At the same time, EcoVadis helps to improve sustainability performance.
