Krause's motto at the WPE in Berlin is: "The future of CTP in Newspaper Platemaking – “Stream and Clean!”
Krause CTP platesetter and processors operate reliably and automatically in the daily newspaper production worldwide since a lot of years.
At the WPE Krause takes the topic platemaking automation in operation and maintenance of the systems to the next level.
At drupa Krause showcased the PlateStream as a concept of a new platesetter and now following an intense but very successful performance testing at the Druckzentrum Niedersachsen Krause will release the new PlateStream platesetter generation at WPE.
The Krause platesetter with violet laser can clearly be considered as the benchmarking machine in regards of plate handling, speed of 400+ plates at 1270dpi, the integration of industry 4.0 and 3D printing components and operating efficiency. "The goal was to integrate our proven technology from various platesetters with the latest developments in the field of electronics, sensors and actuators and combine them with multi-functional 3D printing elements to bring the networking of humans with machines to new levels” quotes Thomas Richter - Technical Director at Krause-Biagosch.
The PlateStream is available in a Compact with one Loading Bay and as a Multiformat version with two Loading Bays. Plate supply is very flexible with trolleys or pallets and additionally a Panorama Cassette can be added, which enables even the Compact version to automatically switch between single and panorama plates in fast alternation. The PlateStream Compact has a plate capacity of up to 3.030 plates and the Multiformat version holds up to 6.030 plates for a fully automated production with the highest capacity in the market. Plate loading and operation can be on the left or right side of the machine and the mirrored configuration allows for the most flexible and operator friendly room layout.
The new CTP Controller with Linux OS receives the 1 Bit Tiff files simply from the local network. The app based operation and control of the machines is handled by an integrated tablet. Another novelty is the Krause Remote Messaging system in connection with the integrated cameras inside the platesetter, which can send in case of an error an automated E-Mail with the error message, the log-files and the relevant video sequences to the operators, maintenance teams and/or Krause. By this the 24/7 Krause Remote-Support can secure today’s requirement for highest reliability and uptime in the best way.
The PlateStream will be demonstrated together with the BlueFin LowChem clean out unit including the new Auto-Clean option for the automatic processing of up to 12.000m² of printing plates without manual intervention. The retrofittable Auto-Clean equipment realizes an automatic change of chemistry including an automated cleaning of the development section as soon as the chemistry needs a change for up to 6 cleaning cycles without user intervention. Combined with the Clean-Process kit before plate exit a clean and sustainable LowChem application with plates from all plate vendors is possible.
The Krause JetNet workflow in the latest version can integrate several independent Web-Press Planning systems an enables a central and automated output to several printing sites. This multi-site architecture is also supported in JetNet Portal, so that the files can be sent very flexible to various locations. A new web-based JetNet Monitoring system, which can integrate and monitor also Krause CTP components and other machines, provides an easy overview over the whole production environment.
