Display Week 2015 Business Conference to Center on Boosting Profitability

SID and IHS tap industry leaders to examine key questions around existing and emerging technologies, consumer demands and financial success factors

The Society for Information Display (SID), in collaboration with IHS Technology, today announced the final schedule of topics and speakers for its annual Business Conference during Display Week 2015 in San Jose, Calif. Titled Game Changers: Finding Ways to Increase Profitability, this year's Business Conference will be held Monday, June 1, and is the first leg of the show's Business Track, which also includes the Display Week Investors Conference and two Market Focus Conferences.

The display industry and the consumer markets it serves have evolved rapidly over the past decade, leaving behind multiple high volume product categories as new display technologies have emerged. Some innovations and incumbent technologies have fared well, while others have faded. Companies must develop strategies that enable new technologies and products to penetrate and succeed within the existing ecosystem, ahead of their competitors, and with competitive pricing. Display Week's Business Conference brings together industry leaders, IHS analysts and attendees who seek insight into current market dynamics, emerging technologies and product trends that will change the display landscape for the next several years.

In addition to thought-provoking keynote addresses and presentations, the Business Conference features dynamic panel discussions with time to network during meals and breaks. Presenters represent a wide range of companies and technology providers, including 3M, AGC, Applied Materials, BizWitz, BOE, Corning, Dell, Dolby Laboratories, Dow Chemical, EDO, General Motors, Huawei, Intel, Joe Kane Productions, Merck, Nanosys, Samsung Display, Sharp Labs, Sharp Electronics and Sungkyunkwan University.

SID President, Amal Ghosh will deliver the opening remarks, followed by Ian Weightman, vice president of research and operations for IHS. Following him will be a Special Display Manufacturer Address, titled "Display Innovations That Drive Value: Lessons From China," given by Feng (Philip) Yuan, chief strategic marketing officer and vice president, BOE Technology Group. IHS's David Hsieh, director of analysis and research, will then present on the topic "Flat Panel Display - Is Low Cost the Only Path to Success?"
