Climate protection in solidarity: CO2-neutral Kyocera partners

Kyocera Document Solutions has been an official "climate neutral company" since 2020. The company now offers a free CO2 footprint calculation to motivate its partners to save and compensate for the climate-damaging carbon dioxide.

Sustainability is a tradition at Kyocera: Kyocera was the first laser printer manufacturer to receive a "Blue Angel". Since then, the company has been synonymous with environmentally friendly document and printing processes and now sells its entire product portfolio of printing and multifunctional systems in a climate-neutral manner.
Through its Print Green Programme, Kyocera has now offset more than 330,000 tonnes of CO2 through Gold Standard certified climate protection projects and thus serves as a best practice example of the "Alliance for Development and Climate". This alliance of politicians and society at large is committed to implementing the UN Agenda 2030 and the Paris Climate Treaty by offsetting CO2 in developing and emerging countries.
Multiplying climate protection through trade
Kyocera is now offering its dealers a free CO2 footprint calculation. A sustainability consultancy uses the consumption values transmitted online by the partners to calculate the so-called Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) of their business activities. The retailer can then offset this CO2 footprint against Gold Standard certified climate protection projects and officially report it.
Marketing Director Pascal Seifert comments: "The carbon footprint helps to identify levers and take measures to reduce the future carbon footprint. In this way, retailers make valuable contributions to the climate protection credo step by step: avoid before reduce before offset".
Kyocera has itself had the CO2 footprint of the headquarters and other locations of the group of companies calculated and made it CO2-neutral. The company's long-standing commitment has been recognised repeatedly, including the "German Excellence Prize 2020", "German Brand Award 2017" and "Blue Angel Prize 2014". In 2020, Kyocera was even once again nominated for the German Sustainability Award.
