A. Schulman Names Brent Middleton Vice President and General Manager, United States and Canada

A. Schulman, Inc. (Nasdaq-GS: SHLM) announced today that it has named Brent Middleton as Vice President and General Manager, United States and Canada. Middleton will be responsible for driving further growth in the Company's United States and Canadian business and will become a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

In addition, the Company announced that Gustavo Perez will become Vice President and General Manager, Latin America, to specifically focus on growing and developing the Latin America region.

"We have demonstrated strong recent success in the U.S. as we have grown our business in key markets through acquisitions as well as organically," said Bernard Rzepka, Chief Operating Officer. "Brent is a strategic thinker and is highly qualified to oversee our continued effort to take advantage of additional opportunities to expand our business in the U.S. and Canada. Given Gustavo's extensive knowledge of markets in Latin America and Brent's experience in growing revenue and market share, we believe we are well positioned for profitable growth in the Americas."

Middleton served 18 years with Dionex Corporation in various positions of increasing responsibility, including Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Service and Corporate Marketing. He also has served as Partner with The SBD Group, LLC, a consulting organization where he advised and coached clients on how to build revenue and profit. In 2010, he founded Middleton Consulting Group, LLC, where he has provided strategic and tactical consulting for domestic and global clients ranging from $5 million to $2.5 billion in revenue.

Perez has served in a variety of management positions with the Company since 1995, most recently serving as the Company's Vice President and General Manager, Americas, since August 2010, before which he served as the General Manager of Masterbatch for the Company's North America operations.
