Inaugural event January 16 & 17, 2015 at Tarrant County College, Trinity River Campus East. This conference is an educational meetup and expo for anyone who wants to know more about the Maker Movement or showcase their maker skills.
The Maker Movement is a national trend and is considered the next step in the technological revolution and the democratization of fabrication. It incorporates 3D printing, laser cutting, the Internet of Things and more. The Fab Now Conference will bring together the many aspects of making and maker spaces, host interactive exhibits and provide networking opportunities.
"Intersecting and blending diverse passions and experiences is central to the maker movement," Lead Conference Organizer Len Avecilla said.
The Fab Now Conference is also a step in the right direction for Downtown Fort Worth. "The Maker Community played an active part in our downtown planning process and DFWI has been encouraging their efforts. We're excited to see this ambitious conference taking place at TCC and hope this leads to the maker community coalescing in Fort Worth and finding a home in downtown," Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. President Andrew Taft said.
