PersPACKtives e. V. wants to innovate packaging and logistics

The newly founded association PersPACKtives e. V. started its activities yesterday with the "Symposium Packaging and Logistics". The kick-off event was fully booked with over 50 participants on-site. As a result of high demand, the event was broadcast live on the internet for twice the number of participants. Members met with packaging and logistics innovators at the EUREF Campus in Berlin to discuss future industry challenges. Thimm is intensively involved with PersPACKtives in order to shape the future in a network of partners.

The event was held as TED talks. This is a conference format with short inputs and subsequent discussion. As Dirk Masuhr, Chairman of the Board of PersPACKtives e. V., explains: "All participants made intensive use of dialogue options offered to look at the ideas presented in more depth. The number of questions asked and the lively discussions that ensued showed the enormous potential and interest in the future challenges of the packaging industry."
In terms of content, the morning had a scientific focus: An expert trio from Hannover University of Applied Sciences, the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology and the Rheinian-Westphalian Technical University Aachen attended the event. The talks described packaging as an indispensable protection for foodstuffs and associated research strategies were then derived. The development of packaging films and the logistics of the future rounded off the scientific inputs.
In the afternoon, the participating companies were ready to report about practical applications. Experts from DHL, HelloFresh and Zalando provided short and concise interventions from industry. Content regarding those current developments in online retailing which continue to require adjustments in the packaging sector were discussed. The sustainability of packaging will also continue to be of great importance in the future.
"The impressions at the symposium were perfectly complemented by the special venue," reports Dirk Masuhr. "Hardly any other Berlin location stands for the transition in energy, mobility and sustainability as much as the EUREF Campus in Berlin-Schöneberg." For over a decade, international companies, start-ups and research institutions have settled in the 5.5 hectare city quarter.
Dirk Masuhr was very pleased with the symposium: "We are delighted with the successful launch of our network. Today, many ideas for innovation were floated. We firmly believe we will shape the future successfully if we network the economy and science effectively.“
