- At virtual.drupa 2021 Atlantic Zeiser will show how its innovative DoD printing technology creates greater efficiency, flexibility and security inline.
- The exclusive web session will focus on late-stage packaging customisation, brand protection and the secure personalisation of financial, ID, gift and loyalty cards.
- "Due to the high print quality - also in colour - and the very good price-performance ratio, DoD technology is playing its superiority for more and more applications."
Digital inline printing, in combination with drop-on-demand inkjet technology (DoD), is mastering more and more challenges. It makes it possible to personalise consumer product packaging at a very late stage, even in the smallest batch sizes and with the ability to add brand protection features to detect piracy and control the grey market. And it allows the personalisation of financial, ID and gift cards in a more versatile, secure and cost-effective way than ever before. As a leading specialist in digital inline printing processes, Atlantic Zeiser will be demonstrating the potential of this technology at virtual.drupa 2021 with new practical examples in a specially produced web session (Wednesday, 21 April, 14:40) and in the corresponding showroom. "More and more printing and packaging processes are caught between mass production on the one hand and individualisation on the other. This is where very different requirements collide from the areas of marketing, supply chain, data and product security and, not least, controlling," explains Barbara Schulz, CEO of Coesia Digital Printing Solutions and managing director of Atlantic Zeiser. "Simply because of its high print quality - also in colour, the flexibility as well as the very good price-performance ratio, DoD technology plays out its superiority here."
Individualising flat or erected folding cartons
One example presented by Atlantic Zeiser at virtual.drupa 2021 is the DIGILINE Versa Inline Pro, a novel system for digital inline colour printing of flat or erected and already filled folding cartons. The system has been specifically designed to complement existing conventional packaging lines, while at the same time providing the benefits of digital technology. This allows consumer goods manufacturers to maintain their established processes and still customise some of the packaged products, for example for special marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions or country-specific imprints.
No chance for the grey market
For many manufacturers of perfumes and cosmetics, but also of other luxury goods and electronic products, major challenges lie beyond the printing and packaging processes. After all, product piracy and grey market activities are now rampant, not least due to increasing e-commerce. Atlantic Zeiser is presenting the latest generation of the Gray Market Controller GMC Pro software solution specifically for this purpose. It enables sales channels to be monitored efficiently - with the help of algorithms and intelligent serialisation.
More security and quality in card printing
The personalisation of financial, ID and gift cards shows that DoD technology also delivers outstanding results in colour on demanding surfaces such as plastic. With the PERSOMASTER, Atlantic Zeiser is presenting a new system that for the first time uses DoD technology to cover the entire spectrum of run sizes, from very small batch sizes, the so-called Rainbow Decks, to applications for new issues with several million cards. Especially when personalising ID cards, the printing process can be combined with laser technology to apply additional security features. Absolute data integrity and security always play at least as important a role as brilliant print quality and low costs per card. Because with the new MAILMASTER, not only Word, but also PDF, PostScript and PCL files can be used for sending cards - for maximum freedom in template design. MAILMASTER can change various parameters for each letter, including number of cards, insert(s), type of fold and more.
