Etiquetas Rospil has taken the next step on its digital transformation by capturing new markets with an investment in a Tau 330 RSC E from Durst, manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies. Increasing numbers of its own customers are explicitly demanding that their labels are produced on the single-pass inkjet press.

Joining the full-color Pro VC40000 family, this new K-only platform brings added depth to an extremely diverse inkjet toolset. At speeds of 180 m/min (590 ft/min), compared to the Pro VC40000's already impressive 150 m/min (492 ft/min), printers can now meet faster turnaround times and deliver increased throughput for monochrome applications.

Xeikon and Flint group today announced the launch of IDERA, a brand-new digital solutions platform for corrugated packaging converters. One of the cornerstones of this platform is a post-print, single-pass printing press. This press uses certified food-safe water-based inks on coated and uncoated corrugated sheets up to 1.6 m wide x 2.8 m long (5’ 3” wide x 9’2” long) at up to 150 linear m/min (492 ft/min). It is an ideal solution for a corrugated box market with decreasing lot sizes, shorter lead times, and ever-increasing demand for high quality packaging. Inkjet technology pioneer, Fujifilm, has agreed to an ongoing partnership with the UK’s largest specialist metal packaging printing firm, Tinmasters. The agreement will see Tinmasters install a Fujifilm Acuity B1 UV inkjet printer at its premises in south Wales. The machine will be used for short run and customised commercial work and Fujifilm will retain access for customer demonstrations and ongoing development work.
