Sensus iPERL Recognised at Accadueo, Italy

Smart water meter seen as major innovation in water management by industry experts

Sensus, a leading provider of clean technology solutions, was recognised in the Accadueo Innovation Showcase, for its iPERL™ smart water meter at the XII International Exhibition of technologies for the treatment and distribution of drinking water and wastewater treatment in Bologna, Italy.

Over 100 products were presented at the exhibition, with three finalists being selected by the technical scientific committee of H2O consisting of water industry experts. iPERL was recognised as the most innovative product in the Instrumentation section and commended as being part of the 'network of the future for the planet's future.'

"We're delighted to be recognised at the Accadueo Innovation Showcase," said Roland Rott, Vice President and General Manager Sensus EMEA. "The utility industry is increasingly looking at leakage management and the technology and communications necessary to address it. iPERL is a proven solution, not just in terms of being recognised by the industry but also with over two million iPERL meters already deployed worldwide."

The Sensus iPERL smart water meter has an integrated two-way communication capability and boasts an expected 15 year operational life. It uses a remnant magnetic field technology to provide unrivalled accuracy in leak management, low flow and the capture of non-revenue water data. By utilising the data available from iPERL, water utilities can educate customers to conserve vital water supplies and alert them to leakages or unusual usage patterns, whilst also reducing utility operational costs.

Rott continued, "Water utilities around the world are being put under increasing pressure to reduce leakage and we believe iPERL is clearly positioned as a leading platform that can help water utilities around the world address this issue."

Sensus is demonstrating iPERL at the European Utility Week conference, taking place 4th – 6th November 2014 in Amsterdam, booth 1.C02, opposite theatre 4.
