SGIA Welcomes Ray Weiss to Team of Dedicated Staff Members

New digital imaging specialist brings years of education to the Association

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association recently added Ray Weiss to its team as the new Digial Imaging Specialist. Weiss provides solutions and technical information on digital printing and digital imaging issues as well as digital equipment, materials, and vendor referrals.

"I'm excited to join SGIA, and I'm pleased to be able to share the information I've acquired over the years with our members," says Weiss. "I'm looking forward to meeting them in a few weeks at the SGIA Expo."

At the 2014 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, October 22–24), Weiss will help direct the Product of the Year competition, which recognizes the most innnovative products of 2014 that are advancing the specialty imaging marketplace. Submit your entry by October 10 (all entries must arrive at the SGIA Depository in Las Vegas by October 15) to be considered for the esteemed Product of the Year award in your category. Register now for your free SGIA Expo pass.

Weiss' career began in the graphics industry with a typesetting and prepress business in Washington, DC, which grew into a full-fledged offset print operation in Maryland. He then moved into sales, training, support and service in the wide-format industry for more than 10 years.

Weiss has extensive experience with many of the major RIP software and printer manufacturers, and worked closely with the Smithsonian Institution to implement a color managed workflow in their Exhibits department.
