With Xfeed, all connected hotmelt units become melt-on-demand systems. From a central storage location, the closed system automatically supplies up to 20 melters with adhesive granulate as needed, independent of the manufacturer, bridging uniquely large distances of up to 200 metres at a high conveying capacity. The availability of the packaging lines is maximised, guaranteeing continuous production. At the same time, the central adhesive supply ensures clean working environments and perfect adhesive quality at all times, as it ensures an optimum fill level in the melters. There is no coking and the viscosity of the adhesives remains continuously the same. In the spirit of Industry 4.0, the technical data provided by the energy-efficient technology allows adhesive consumption to be optimised, as it can be used for process analyses. In addition, Xfeed significantly increases operating comfort and occupational safety for the machine operators.
Especially also with the conversion of adhesive application from beads to dots, the packaging industry can achieve significant resource savings in countless applications and improve the sustainability of their packaging processes and products. Baumer hhs has already proven this in many hundreds of installations worldwide. The prerequisite for switching to dot application is a perfect interaction of intelligent control units with high-performance valves that guarantee precise metering and application of the adhesive dots. With the dot box kit, Baumer hhs is presenting a turnkey system at FachPack 2021 that includes two tesla go hot melt valves, a dot box control unit and all brackets and necessary cables. In doing so, the company will demonstrate live how packaging manufacturers can convert their adhesive application to the innovative technology from Baumer hhs in just a few simple steps and then produce all packaging with dot application.
Kotecki: "Practical experience shows that the investment in the dot box kit pays for itself within a few months thanks to the adhesive savings of at least 50 % achieved. Furthermore, our solution does not require compressed air. This also benefits the sustainability of packaging production. Our customers are correspondingly enthusiastic about the advantages of our technology. At FachPack, Baumer hhs will be demonstrating how convenient it is for customers to use the company's GlueCalc app for smartphones on their production lines to determine the adhesive savings and reduced CO2 emissions on a job-by-job basis by simply entering a few data.
