Printr Brings 3D Printing to the Mainstream Consumer

3D printing becomes easy as pie with "The Element"

Printr has launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new product The Element. Through the crowdfunding platform, consumers can preorder the product and become the first ones to enjoy a productive and painless 3D printing experience.

Douwe Bart Mulder, CEO of Printr: "When my friends and I first started out with 3D printing, we had to spend hours and hours trying to master all the different programs that are needed to print a simple keychain. Even when we did figure it all out, the slicer kept crashing, we had to constantly watch the printer and eventually, we ran out of things to print."

Printr introduces The Element. The Element is an intuitive plug & play USB dongle designed to bring a productive and painless 3D printing experience. Just plug the Element into your 3D printer and you are ready to go. This means that from now on, everybody will be able to make use of the possibilities of 3D printing.

The Element is designed to be easy for beginners and versatile enough for the pros. On top of having full control over your printer's settings over the web, The Element also allows offline streaming. This means that you don't need an Internet connection. When you power up The Element, it will send out a Wi-Fi hotspot and by connecting to it, you can stream your files through The Element to your 3D printer.

No 3D printer? No problem!

Whether someone owns a 3D printer or not, formide.com will be the platform to go to. Designs can be streamed straight to a 3D printer at home or to one of the print facilitator partners that will print it on a different location. Printed objects can then be shipped to your home or picked up locally. Printr is connecting all the services of 3D printing out there into one platform, from 3D printer manufacturers to content providers and print facilitators, enabling anyone to bring their ideas to life with 3D printing.
